After my third day trying to work my way around this new computer, I am ready to give up on it and return it. In particular, I couldn’t reconcile my biases with the keyboard style. I have big hands, which makes it clumsy for me. In addition, it has no F-keys. How can a keyboard have no F-Keys? Worse of all is this computer came with no instructions about the equipment configuration, camera location, on-switch, how to insert batteries into the mouse, etc. In any case, I figured out some of these things after tinkering around with it. However, regarding the F-keys, it could be there are ways to emulate them but no instructions were provided to that effect. What’s a man got to do? Much as I hate to have to return it, I can’t abide the thought of living with these negative aspects into the unforeseeable future. So, I contacted the seller, and they agreed to pay for a replacement keyboard. I have since fallen in love with this computer. I bought this to replace an aging HP AMD all-in-one that I acquired several years ago (2012), that has slowed down to an excruciating crawl. The blazing speed of this computer justifies the investment. The resolution is perfect for watching movies or the news. A few essential accessories have been removed from it but it still satisfies most basic computing needs. So far, it’s been a wonderful desktop. I love it.Update: While I did not notice it before, there is a usb dongle for the mouse and keyboard. I find this troubling because the system will become inoperable if, for any number of reasons, that usb is lost. Is there a way around this design flaw?

This is the 2nd HP all-in-one computer I have had and I love it. Sure hated to replace the first one, which I had for 8 years, updating over the years, from Windows 8 to Windows 10 with no problems. Until the last time when windows updated and I lost audio. There was no HP audio drive to fix the problem. Which is strange because this one has audio that works just fine. Love that I don’t have to worry about cables all over the place. This one has a tilt screen so I can adjust it when I’m on zoom instead of having to sit on a pillow. The camera is good and I like the way it hides in the back when I’m not using it. There’s a goofy little tag on the lower right side; the brand name of the sound, but I can live with it. Right after I got it, I called customer support at Amazon for a minor question and they responded quickly and were very helpful

I’m in love. I had been using an old HP all in one for my business for the last six years. It only had 4gigs of Ram and an old processor. I had become accustomed to waiting 30 seconds-1 minute for the computer to process simple Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom (classic) processes. After installing both programs on this computer, it handles ALL processes as quick as lightening. With a whopping 16GB of ram and the new Intel Core I7 processor, Its amazing to see Photoshop (the full version) load in literally 2 seconds, or to turn the computer on and have it ready to go in a matter of seconds. What a luxury! Everything seems solidly constructed. I actually like the fact the screen isn’t adjustable, as it feels more solid/safe this way. Being some one that prefers to sit in a higher chair rather than a low to the ground office chair, it doesn’t bother me. Just get the right size chair and you won’t be “looking up” at the screen as others have complained.Concerning screen size: Initially I thought the 27″ screen would be like a small television and WAY too large. Now I’m hooked. Being able to look at my RAW photography files and know precisely what they’ll look like for professional printing is fantastic. I cannot believe I waited this long to have a larger PC monitor or more powerful processor. I think the Core I7 processor is probably superior to the AMD Ryzen processor on other HP all in ones of similar design. The HP website is currently selling this precise 27″ model, only with an AMD. Paying a little extra for the I7 Core seemed worth it.My only real disappointment was to find out that the All in ones are made in China, rather than produced in a HP factory in the USA. I don’t think I have to mention the risks in this, as its obvious. High hopes nothing scary has been installed on it.

Super nice Desktop PC. Got it to replace my wife’s 15 year old PC which can’t be upgraded in Windows anymore.Love the 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD Hard Drive. Don’t need any more hard drive for our needs.Upgrades are easy. Plan to add more RAM (came with 8GB and will take 32GB) and upgrade the WiFI 5 to Wi-Fi 6 with an Intel Desktop Wireless M.2 card. This will speed up the Bluetooth also. Not that the WiFi 5 is inadequate but the Wi-Fi 6 is the way to go.Graphics are pretty good but I was thinking of installing a low profile 1030 graphics card which would make it even better.I’m talking so upgrades but this is a great machine for the price. Intel i3 is underrated. Wonderful processor for everyday usage.Very Happy with it. HP has some pretty advanced ways to upgrade the bios and Drivers. You can connect to their support page and it analyzes for updates. Have it connected to a nice LG monitor. Light weight too. I wouldn’t call it a gaming machine. It’s not that fast but fast enough for surfing The web or watching Amazon Prime or HBO Max.I think it was a smart buy. For my wife’s needs this is perfect and didn’t cost thousands.

I LOVE this computer! The touchscreen is a good option, although I prefer using a mouse. I don’t do heavy gaming, so I can’t speak to that specific topic, but the monitor image quality is great for my purposes. I use my computer for web-surfing, YouTube videos, Office applications, Printshop, Hallmark Card Studio, email, Jacquie Lawson e-cards and Advent calendars, Microsoft games, and desktop publishing. I have had absolutely no difficulty with any of these programs and applications. This computer is FAST. I have high-speed Xfinity wireless cable Internet, which I’m sure plays a part in the computer’s speed. Even so, it’s much faster than my last computer, which was a good, business-grade traditional tower, upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I’ve never been a fan of Windows 10, but I’m pretty much used to it and can appreciate many of it’s new options.I love the color I chose…white. It’s clean looking and makes my work space brighter. The monitor height is perfect for me…I am a tall woman (5’10”), and I sit tall at my desk. The keyboard is very nice. It has all the usual features, but is not huge…I like its more compact size. And, it uses batteries, so no charging is necessary. Instead of those little plastic flip-out stands that always break off, it has an integrated stand along the entire back edge. The keyboard is nicely weighted so it stays put. The keys have good touch-feel with a soft click when typing. And, conveniently, it can rest on the wide monitor stand when not in use.It comes with a wireless mouse, but I prefer to use the ergonomic mouse I already have.I hope this review helps you.

I ordered this computer when it was $600 on March 17th. Given the INSANE prices for graphics cards right now (the GTX 1650 SUPER this thing includes isn’t available anywhere for less than $400 right now), I knew I needed to snap one of these up as soon as my $1,400 stimulus payment hit. I figured they’d be sold out soon, and (at least for the $600 price) they did sell out within 24 hours of me buying. It has the traditional drawbacks of any big name brand prebuilt PC. It has a proprietary PSU. This means you can’t easily upgrade it to power much stronger (but much higher power consumption) video cards in the future. But, I knew this going in.This was simply the best way for me to get a good computer with a solid CPU and GPU for a low price right now. I read that the HP motherboard keeps the RAM at 2667mhz speed, so I bought another stick of 2667mhz RAM to bring it up to 16gb.I also moved two internal hard drives from my old computer over to this PC. Between this and the added RAM, the two biggest shortcomings out of the box (short on memory and storage) are now handled. I don’t anticipate having to open this computer for any reason over the next couple of years. If I do ever upgrade the GPU, I realize I’ll be limited to a mid-level GPU because of the power supply. If there’s something that’s a good performance jump over the 1650 Super that doesn’t use much more power, I could see upgrading to that in a year or two. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with this PC, and it should see to all my needs for the immediate future.SIDE NOTE: The case for this thing is SMALL. My old PC was one I built, and it has a mid-tower case. This HP Pavilion must use some kind of micro-tower case or whatever the proper terminology is. Getting my fat fingers between what I’m guessing is the hard drive cage and the motherboard to add the extra stick of RAM wasn’t easy, but I got it done. It’s not really made for working on and expanding both because of the small case and the proprietary PSU. That’s OK though. Like I said, this should meet my needs for the next year or two, and by then, hopefully, GPU prices won’t be insane anymore, and I’ll be able to build something that packs a little more of a punch (and do it in a mid-tower case – I never appreciated how spacious they were before).ALSO: This thing was a REAL DEAL given nutso part prices right now. Think about it; the CPU goes for about $125, the GPU for $400 and up and add in the value of the 8gb stick of RAM and the 256gb SSD and you’re already at or over the $600 I paid. It’s like I got the case, motherboard and PSU for free, which kinda makes it OK that the case is cramped and the PSU is proprietary.

The Ryzen chip is very fast and there is no lag with the video response with the onboard Radeon graphics. I’m thrilled with the 32 GB of RAM and the 1 TB SSD It’s an incredible little powerhouse and clearly with the $899 price tag. My only problem with the computer is the poor design of the keyboard !!! Okay, I knew going in that the keyboard wasn’t BACKLIT, but I never thought they would be STUPID enough to have BLACK keys with CHARCOAL LETTERING !!! It makes it nearly impossible to use in low-light environments. I had to resort to propping a small flashlight against my head and shoulder to illuminate the keyboard adequately to see what I was typing. I( later ordered a USB LED light to provide the light source, but really … WHY NOT A BRIGHT WHITE LETTERING ON THE BLACK KEYES ??? SMFH

Because I use a usb headset and a usb 2nd monitor, I only have one port extra to use for flash drive etc.I know I can always add additional ports if I need to.I’m very happy to have 16 gig Ram and it runs great!Great product for a great price!

So i really like the pavilion, I’ve had it for almost three months now, and a lot of the claims they make about how this pc handles games is true, i’ve played apex, Warzone, GTA and Fortnite on high settings at some good frame-rates, but one small issue with the pc is the ram and storage. You could have maybe one or two large games and a few small applications, and you’re already out of storage space. Mine came with 250 (ish) GBs and with Discord, Spotify, Firefox and GTA 5 downloaded, i really don’t have enough space to download anything else. Another thing, RAM. This only comes with 16 GBs, and while the PC can handle large games, if you put too much on the Ram, you’ll begin to have visible glitches on the top of your screen, But despite these issues, i still recommend the PC. Both of these issues are easily fixable, just buy ram sticks that are still good for your power supply, and maybe buy an SSD or stick drive for extra games you may need, overall shouldn’t be more then 120$ bucks on top of the 600$ (the price i got it for) pc, and for that price, its a damn good PC.

I like this HP Pavilion. I’ve owned several HP computers and printers before, I’m currently using an HP printer and this computer is the one I’m now reviewing. It works great, I’m able to type this review with no worries, there have only been a few minor glitches, all fixable by me. So far at least. HP has a lot of great support services in general, and this hard drive is just under one terabyte, they never seem to make it up to the full hard drive status they advertise. And I’m worried about defragmenting the drive, it’s a solid state drive and you can’t really defragment a drive of that type without harming the machine. Or the hard drive. So I’m hoping it will be okay, and I can manage without using defragmentation services.

I’ve had this computer for a couple of weeks now. I paid about $1000 including tax (CA). Not a lot of computer makers offer a Ryzen 7-5700U, yet. With 32MB of RAM and 1TB SSD it’s almost a steal. It doesn’t offer frills like folding back the display, touch screen, or lighted keys. But what I would have liked is Windows 11 Professional instead of Home and School.I made it dual boot, and installed openSUSE Leap 15.3 next to Windows. The dual boot works fine. However, I haven’t been successful yet getting the Ryzen to work at full resolution. That’s not HP’s fault, but rather AMD which doesn’t provide its Radeon drivers as public domain.Overall, so far I’m happy with this computer. I hope it will last a long time.

I bought this HP computer on sale $430.00 a few months ago and it continues to work great. It has the intel quad core i3, 512 GB SSD hard drive, 8GB ram and a disc player. I popped a DVD movie into the player, and it plays well, music CD’s also work. The 8GB ram has decent speed but I decided to upgrade the ram. It has 2 ram card slots, so I first removed the 8GB ram card and installed a 16GB ram card I bought at Amazon online and it works well, so I decided to get a second 16GB ram card that I installed and now it has 32GB ram and it works GREAT. You can only install up to 32GB ram on this computer. If you want, you can also install a second or third internal hard drive HDD or SSD. I decided to install only a second internal HDD hard drive. The computer includes a mounting bracket and the wires, so all you need is a hard drive. If you want to install a third internal hard drive, you will need a mounting bracket and wires. I was able to find a WD 2TB HDD internal hard drive on sale $45. I saw a video on YouTube on how to install and activate the hard drive and it was easy to install and activate it. I store home videos, pictures, music, and other stuff on the 2TB HDD hard drive and so far, it’s working well. I have been using the computer for surfing the web, email, Facebook, YouTube, and other stuff. The Microsoft online store shows that some games are compatible with this computer, I haven’t tried any yet. It also has a line in for sound recording, headphone jack and plenty of USB ports.

I got an HP Pavilion in 2016 or 2017 that I’ve been using reliably for years. Finally it got to the point where I needed an upgrade because it was getting too slow for me to do simple tasks or use for my work (teaching). I figured this would be a good upgrade but already I’m a little disappointed by how slow it’s already behaving and I’ve only had it for two days. However, I think I recall my original HP Pavilion being a little “slower” than the other models when I purchased it years ago so I guess it is to be expected. You can’t really beat that price!

Got the computer for $670 and while it was bone stock it was an ok pc, I later put in a 1tb internal hard drive, upgraded the ram to 32 and this thing runs any game I play smoothly, currently am running over 400+ mods on Fallout 4 (a lot of texture and resolution mods) and the frame rate hasn’t dropped or anything, I believe it’s improved. Runs Forza 5 no problem, it makes it flux beautifully. Fortnite does lag a slight bit for a second but then again I’ve maxed out the storage on my pc. Amazing buy for someone just getting back in or wanting to start pc gaming (just make the upgrades, total including monitor ended up being $900)

Nothing against the seller at all. Item came promptly and no damages what so ever. However, the computer itself is quite mediocre. I’m somewhat convinced that the lack of speed is due to the fact that the ryzen 3 processor can’t handle the operating system. Even with all the initial updates I’m still noticing way slower start up time as well as programs loading way slower compared to my laptop. Will probably pay more next time for higher processor count.

I bought this stupidly cause of what I read. I was never a PC gamer. I kinda got talked into being one… Kinda. But I had to get a new power supply, but it needed to be an HP one. As far as I know I had the choice of 400 and 500 watt ones they make. The only one I could find was a 400 watt one. (Also I’m sure there’s a converter somewhere in the world, but the HP ones fit the case) So with that, and on top of that I had to buy a graphics card. Which I chose an rtx 2060. With those both installed now. The PC runs how I wanted when I ordered it. VR works now, the games run at least at 57 FPS at 1080. That was the lowest it ran and that was Doom eternal. Halo infinite was in the 100s for frames. So 1080p gaming works just fine. Its decently fast at starting, I have no complaints at the moment. It would have been 5 stars if it all worked without the upgrading. But good to know for next time, just man up and build my own.

I love the performance and speed of this laptop. It is working well as I need to use zoom and other programs simultaneously. Boots fast and has been compatible with the open software I use. My only issue it the lack of a an ethernet jack. I was forced to use ethernet (I am traveling) and used an interface which plugged in and provided the ethernet. Impressive speed BUT it consumed my battery in less than 2 hours. The power supply was unable to keep up but the demand (it was plugged in). If I power the interface AND the computer everything is fine. That issue is the only reason I give this 4 stars. If you are only using WiFi then this thing is fabulous!

Screen is sharp. Due to the “silver” finish, the keys can be difficult to read unless you are properly positioned. I slouch, so it is a real problem for me. On the other hand, I had a much older 7th generation i7 Windows computer with a hard drive. Over the years the time to get it running could run 12 minutes. With the newer i5 and, more importantly the SSD, I can be working in only a few seconds. It is wonderful. My only problem thus far is that the keys seem much more sensitive and the screen runs away with scrolling or changing text size, etc. I have to be a little more careful in where I place my hands. Yes, as you may have guessed from above, I am a lazy typist so I guess it is to be expected.

My son needed a computer in a pinch and this ticked all the boxes for what he needed. Something to do school work on and play some games with reasonably good quality. If you’re a casual PC gamer, this is a pretty good system. Only has two DIMM slots but I had a spare 16GB stick of RAM from a previous machine and poof, upgraded to 24GB of RAM just like that. More than he’ll need probably.Since this is an Intel based machined, I wanted to say a word about AMD Ryzen processors. I love them but, and a very BIG but, they are temperamental in my experience. The same 16GB RAM wouldn’t work in that machine. In fact, that was a nearly identical HP machine to this one but we had endless blue screens. Multiple OS installs, driver updates, and multiple sets of RAM. Nothing worked. The MOBO could be the issue but this isn’t my first time dealing with endless blue screens from a Ryzen-based system. If your machine is set up properly, they’re great. Otherwise, go with an Intel-based machine like this one. They seem to be more forgiving with the hardware that you might swap around. That’s just my two cents though. All that said, this is a great little machine with a lot of power for the price. Just uninstall all the bloatware when you get it. 😉

Had originally bought a Lenovo & that was a huge mistake. Returned and bought an HP that has been perfect out of the box. The seller, Oydisen Electronics, shipped fast & I had no problems at all setting up. It is exactly what i ordered & expected!

After receiving the actual laptop as purchased I can say it works as stated. The laptop works really well for my wife and her teaching online while we travel or go to the beach house. The graphics are really good and the speed is what really impresses my wife. So far we are happy with the performance, weight, battery, and graphics. My wife only uses the laptop to teach online and for work so this review is on that type of usage only.

My laptop mother board died so I had to decide between another laptop or a desk top. Went with a desktop purchase on Amazon wasn’t able to find what I wanted elsewhere. Technical documentation from HP is lacking, was kind of disappointed other wise have been happy with this purchase thus far. New system is very fast, happy with windows 11 which was loaded.

I haven’t gotten all the way into this laptop but so far so good. Fast and easy to get around except the Windows 11 wants you to use Edge instead of Google Chrome so it was a bit of maneuvering to get Google Chrome on there. Other than that I’m pretty happy with it. Lightweight, fast and gets done what I needed it for. Haven’t tried gaming or streaming. Just going to use for a YouTube channel and Etsy Shop.

This Windows 11 seems to perform well in all respects. I especially like the faster reboot and that I did not have to get a third party graphics card to handle the processing stress with my Cyberlink photo and video processing as before. Love it! Windows 11 takes a little time to get used to. For example, I miss being able to quickly access the Control Panel in the Start menu, but that may be my lack of education to do the same with Win 11.

i do audio work for video games: creating sfx in a daw(digital audio workstation) and or composing midi mockup scores using kontakt and a ton of heavy ram use orchestral sample library. the 32g ram on this and the 1tb ssd is a HUGE boon for audio work! i use both ableton and reaper daw. they load super snappy. my kontakt heavy projects load ultra fast now (versus the pc tower i was using, which was still quite powerful).the laptop runs fairly quiet even at heavier cpu loads. i composed a piece of music for a game of thrones video game which ran about 60-70% cpu on my other, fastest computer(the pc tower). this hp laptop, it clocks in at a cool 50%. so ive been able to have tons of cpu intense plugins (such as ozone8 or reaktor) running in the daw projects no problem. i was able to turn the cpu down to 0% in the windows power management panel and set the cooling to passive- which causes the laptop to run slower, but basically run silent because less heat generation. which is perfect when i need to record foley or my own voice for use with creatures in the games. i can then turn the cpu back up to full speed when composing or integrating the sound and music into the games.the graphics card on this isnt 100% the best but im still able to run unity and hook up sounds into 3d games that way without any lag via a 2k screen. really this isnt a gaming pc (only due to the level/integration of its graphics card) like you might not be able to easily run the latest greatest fps at full settings and stream on twitch at the same time without some drop in frame rate(but who knows maybe u can? i didnt test this fully), but im confident you could still run just about any game regardless (w tweaked setting most likely).just as a test i loaded up one of my all time fav games: skyrim, and one of the heftier mods and it seemed to run amazingly well in 2k (with all the game’s graphics settings turned up). i havent tried video capturing a game like that but with the right settings in obs i think it could work fine (probably no more than 60fps id imagine).i do do a lot of video capturing for my job: getting animations and vfx clips to bring into the daw to make sound effects with and so far this laptop does not even blink w those basic vid cap tasks.i also do photography and video editing on the side for my own projects. photoshop runs like a total breeze on this! ive never had a smoother photoshop experience, personally. after effects is fast to edit/splice preview etc but some of the render times (especially when using twixtor) still take time. a 20 minute time stretched(200% vector blend) 2k video with color correction and film grain layers added took about 2+hr to render. so obvs not the best laptop out there for major video effects work but i think still totally doable and capable for those working more in the premiere type video editing layout arena.my only complaint is that the laptop feels cheapo plastic (this is my first non mac in a while so theres that) so for work-traveling(which is why i ultimately got this) i think ill need to get a good solid case and just treat this like a newborn baby during its life span.with the crazy power of this thing, given the requirements of my audio/photoshop work, i think this will be a super solid computer for me for the next 10years at least. and for $800 what a crazy steal!

This is by far the fastest laptop I have ever owned. It starts up very quickly and shuts down quickly. When you open an excel file, the file opens before the click of the mouse fades away.8 core processer32 GB of memory1 TB solid state driveExtended display with little display borderNice displayVery thin and lightThe people who put in the upgrades must have used soft gloves because the computer did not have a scratch on it and started up as a brand new computer. All for $910 including tax is an incredible value.I do agree with one reviewer that the letters on the key could be more white if color to see them easier, but that is such a minor issue to all of the plusses. If your current laptop has become sloe for you, this is a great replacement at a more than reasonable price.

I’ve only had this for a week so this is very preliminary. But observations so far …Boots very fast, much faster than my old laptop (which is about 5 years old now). Works beautifully with my external monitor, just plugged it in with an HDMI cable and it worked. Works beautifully with an external drive. Again, just plugged it in and it worked. I got the 1 TB drive which is a ridiculous amount of space. I ported everything from my old computer — which is over 20 years worth of accumulated data, ported from computer to computer — installed a bunch of software, and it all came to 103 GB. Also connected to my home wifi network no problem, and I installed my printer driver and that’s worked first time no problem. It comes defaulting to the Documents folder being under OneDrive, which I found a super pain. I have way more data than the free 5 GB and I don’t intend to pay for more, I’d rather just back up to an external drive myself. Maybe this will prove foolish if the drive fails and I’ve neglected backups — we’ll see. But I’m getting slews of error message about exceeding my 5 GB, I’ve got to figure out how to turn that off. The setup process also forced me to create an account with Microsoft which, well, why?It only has 2 USB ports, which I find limiting. I routinely plug in a trackball, which leaves me just one port. I wanted to copy some data from an external hard drive to a USB stick, and … I was out of ports. I bought a USB hub, and that’s the one device that seems to have trouble playing nice with this HP. I don’t know if that’s the fault of the hub, the laptop, or me doing something stupid.Minor quible: The page up/down keys are far away from the cursor control keys, which I find awkward.
